.......... moments of vibrant poetry was with the Adagio of the Concerto for pianoforte and orchestra K488 of Mozart played majestically by Takahiro Yoshikawa. Manuela Bianchi "la Repubblica" 20/10/2007

21st May 2007 Teatro Grande di Brescia

Maurice Ravel's “Gaspard de la nuit” Yoshikawa offered the enchanting Ondine with tenderness, smooth and light sounds. In the following piece “Le Gibet” very expressively the pianist found the dimensions of the nostalgia and of remorse, with the ending “Scarbo” Yoshikawa displayed his beautiful technique, paying attention to the measure and dosage of the sound. The concert finished with a marvel, Schuman's quintet op. 44 – Yoshikawa along with the La Scala Quartet gave an intense, mature yet fresh interpretation, wining over the audience who in turn gave long ovations.

“A great musical evening”, “a touching voyage”, “A stunning technique”: these were the comments which went around amongst those who attended the concert of the great Japanese pianist Takahiro Yoshikawa; Velocity, composure, - much dear to Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, precision and touching interpretation of the Japanese musician, already an affirmed star at La Scala. A vast repertory which enables a surplus of sentiments, as in the execution of the Beethoven Sonata op. 27 n° 2, or the interpretation of Gaspard de la Nuit, with its Ondine, Gibet e Scarbo, poems transformed in music by Ravel and transformed into poetry by Takahiro Yoshikawa.
